Old Florida Paradise

Setting things right in Alva.
We see this job as a full-circle process. The homeowners wanted their sprawling homestead restored to its old Florida charm. The “after” is above. If it looks like it belongs there, we’ve done our job.
However, the aesthetic scope of the job really benefits from the perspective of the before shot, below:

The water garden sits at the heart of an 11-acre property, a setting as picturesque as can be, all on its own. Such a large spread, though, can benefit from a little definition.

The water garden offers a place for entertaining or quiet reflection and really consists of three separate features that flow together to tie the space together.
The natural stone waterfall serves as the source of the flow and draws the eye to a corner of the space that might have escaped notice before. From there, a streambed meanders between two seating decks.

Stepping stones provide a whimsical and naturalistic crossing to a simple stone bench, complete with its own side table.

One can then continue on toward the swimming pool or the house.

Finally, the water pools in a wide lagoon, boasting its own palm tree island.
